GoCruiseMe is a platform offered by the Autism on the Seas Foundation, dedicated to helping families with a special needs child (regardless of age) raise funds toward the cost of their staff assisted vacation. We also offer the platform to volunteer staff to help them raise money to meet some of their travel costs.

Who are GoCruiseMe campaigns for?
Families with a child with a disability (regardless of age) can raise money for their own staff-assisted vacation. Staff volunteers can raise money to cover their travel costs.

What can the funds be used for?

The funds can be used for any purpose, however they are most commonly used to pay for costs related to your vacation or volunteer travel.
 
How else can I get contributions?
All money raised from events you hold such as car washes, tag sales, etc., can be paid into your campaign through the link on your page. Local restaurants may run fundraiser nights that share a percentage of the takings from your supporters who attend. Please note that raffles and bingo nights, for example, might be regulated in your state and should be researched before you hold them.  

How are contributions made?
We set up your own unique campaign page on the GoCruiseMe website. You can decide to have your page:

  • Public - on our website, on our list of campaigns, so anyone can choose to contribute to your campaign, or

  • Private - where you supply the web page link to just those you want to view it

 

Simply provide others with the link to your page, via email, free electronic Invites, flyers, Facebook, etc. The Foundation cannot directly promote your campaign.
 

What does the Fee cover?
The Foundation retains 10% of the total amount raised. This covers credit card processing fees passed on to the Foundation, and the cost of administering the program. This amount is deducted when the funds are paid out toward your vacation or to you.

How are Contributions are applied to staff assisted vacation reservations?
When you instruct us, the Foundation will make a payment (from your funds raised) to your vacation reservation, which must be prior to your final payment deadline.

Why are contributions not tax-deductible?
Ordinarily these contributions are not tax deductible, as the payments are benefiting you as an individual and not the Foundation. This is the same as other sites like GoFundMe, and in accordance with rules issued by the IRS. If you believe your circumstances are different, please contact us by emailing info@aotsf.org

How do I get started?
Read the Terms and Conditions below, and then click the button following to access the application form. Your campaign will be set up within 2 business days.

GoCruiseMe Terms and Conditions

  1. GoCruiseMe campaigns are purposed to help you raise funds for a staff-assisted vacation, and should not be used for any other purpose.

  2. Contributions are not tax deductible for your supporters, as the payments are benefiting you as an individual and not the Foundation's mission.

  3. You are responsible for requesting payments toward your staff assisted vacation reservation. Instructions will be provided when you apply for a campaign.

  4. A fee of 10% of will be retained by the Autism on the Seas Foundation to cover credit card charges and the cost of administering the GoCruiseMe program. This is calculated and deducted from each payment you make toward your staff assisted vacation reservation.

  5. It is your responsibility to promote your campaign, the Foundation cannot do this for you.

  6. Unused funds can be carried forward to a new vacation campaign, or paid out directly to you by check.

  7. Your campaign will be set up for a maximum of 2 years. If campaign funds have not been used within this time period, we will contact you with options to use the funds.
